TRAINING AND FLIGHT STANDARDS

IFFTG operates pursuant to a rigid set of flight standards, with requirements for more precise flying and procedural adherence than in airline operations. Currency and qualification is contemporaneously maintained in multiple airplane types, and technical demands are extraordinarily high. Unlike airline flying, where airplanes within a fleet are generally configured very similarly, IFFTG operations include the broadest spectrum of engine, avionics and systems configuration options.

Test flying, and the operation under special airworthiness certification of airplanes that do not meet normal airworthiness standards, require a higher level of systems knowledge, including the many differences that arise within a type, based on configuration options. Operations are conducted worldwide, and without the benefit of the "on-line station" system common to airline flying. Thus, a comprehensive and detailed knowledge of international procedures and air law is required. Training and checking standards are extraordinarily high, and are stringently maintained.
